Meet Grace, the butterfly keeper. Still young, pure and innocent always on the look out for more mesmerising winged friends. She is a one of a kind custom art doll based on a stripped down (factory hair and make up) 17 inch Frankie Stein Monster High doll by Mattel.

Please take a good look at the last picture where a flaw/stain in the seam of the dolls arm is pointed out.

Grace's body got a light sanding to remove the shiny top layer and the Frankie body tattoos/stitches in order to give her body the same matt finish and UV protection as her head. Nipples were drawn on and she got ever so lightly shaded in certain areas. I put the emphasis on some  (high)lightening of the body in stead to keep the look uniform and pale.

The Frankie bolts got removed from her neck and replaced with clear crystals.

After removing the factory make up, i did her face up in mainly blue tones and hues with pinks and reds for girly cheeks and natural lips. UV- cut gloss got a applied to her lips and sparingly to certain parts of her eyes. The butterflies and surrounding 'air' shading got done in several layers before, during and after the make-up.

I made her a light and airy dress in sync with her elegant and graceful winged friends. The dress has a snap closure, got embellished with some beads and cords all in orange to keep it monotone.  I removed the dragon heels and skulls from a pair of original Monster High shoes and replaced them with applique butterflies after painting the shoes with several layers of semi transparent orange acrylics and MSC.

After removing the factory hair, I made her a non-removable wig out of synthetic hair wefts and a crown in mint and black-mint hombre. She's wearing 2 small black hair clips as in the pictures.
 
Grace is no longer a toy but a collectable OOAK art doll and therefore not suitable for children. She should be handled with TLC and is deserving of a beautiful display spot with an adult collector.
